RECI is externally managed by Cheyne Capital Management (UK) LLP "Cheyne", a UK investment manager authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”). Cheyne is a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales on 8 August 2006 and is authorised and regulated in the conduct of investment business in the United Kingdom by the FCA. Cheyne is also the AIFM of the Company.

The Investment Manager, is one of the top European alternative investment managers by AUM and was established in 2000. As of 31 July 2021, the firm has a total staff of 168, and manages approximately $9.8 billion of net AUM.

Approximately two-thirds of Cheyne's staff work in non-investment and control functions, demonstrating its commitment to creating a sustainable business to serve investors through a long-term investment in people and infrastructure.

Cheyne is a signatory to the UN Principles of Responsible Investment and as such commits to consider material ESG issues in the course of its investment process and ongoing monitoring of investments. Cheyne will analyse ESG issues in relation to real estate lending transactions, and seek to cause the borrower (to the extent relevant) to implement appropriate ESG policies.

Cheyne Capital (the Investment Manager) is one of the largest and most prolific providers of capital to the European real estate debt markets. RECI benefits from Cheyne’s significant expertise and platform in the origination and trading of real estate loans and mortgage backed securities. The platform’s skill sets include origination, execution, valuation, asset management, risk management and workouts.

RECI is managed by Cheyne's Real Estate business which was established in 2009 and is now one of the largest non-bank stand-alone real estate credit businesses in Europe. The business delivers solutions across the funding capital structure and is focused mainly in the UK and Western Europe. Its capabilities are comprehensive and include origination, execution, legal, risk management, portfolio management, financing, development and work outs.
